About the Journal
Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries is an international journal with a broad scope on process safety. Process safety is defined as the prevention and mitigation of process-related injuries and damage arising from process incidents involving fire, explosion and toxic release. Such undesired events occur in the process industries during the use, storage, manufacture, handling, and transportation of highly hazardous chemicals. The focus of the journal is on loss prevention as practiced in the process industries with an emphasis on chemical and process plant safety.

The 4th International Symposium on Urban and Industrial Safety will be held on November 26-28 in Nanjing, China. One major theme of this biannual symposium is chemical process safety. This special issue of Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries will be dedicated to the high quality work on process safety that are presented in the symposium. The topics include, but are not limited to:
Paper Submission
The invitation of paper submission will be sent within 15 days after the 4th International Symposium on Urban and Industrial Safety. All manuscripts will be peer reviewed in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the journal. The final papers will be selected for publication depending on the results of the peer review process and the reviews of the Guest Editors and Editor-in-Chief.
